The Buchtel High School Alumni Association hosted a naming recognition ceremony for the athletic complex at Buchtel Community Learning Center to celebrate the legacy of four former coaches Oct 26.

The naming ceremony took place during the annual Buchtel Community Pancake Day event in the high school cafeteria.

The honorees included Michael Buckner, Tim Flossie, John Scott and Bill Heideman, who had four different areas of the athletic complex named after them.

According to event officials, the field was named after Buckner, a former head football coach; the stadium was named after former football coach Flossie; and the track was named after former track and field coach Scott. Heideman, a former track and field coach, was recognized posthumously; and the complex was rededicated in his honor.
