Akron is trying to tie the lessons its public high school students learn in the classroom to potential career paths in hopes that stronger engagement will translate to better attendance and academic performance.

"If we can make learning relevant and meaningful, then they're going to engage in their learning in a deeper way, so that they're learning what they need to be successful on outcomes," said Rachel Tecca, director of the College & Career Academies for Akron Public Schools. Read more >>.
