School Board President Patrick Bravo meets the Tabata brothers after they delivered the Pledge of Allegiance)

The Akron School Board did a triple take Monday night (9/24/18) after inviting a band of brothers to deliver the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of its meeting.

Kota, Kenta and Taiyoh Tabata traveled to the Sylvester Small Administration Building (we're not sure if they rode together) to stand and deliver.

Kota, we are told, is a driven young man who has set high expectations for himself. His course emphasis at National Inventor's Hall of Fame (NIHF) STEM High School is in the field of engineering. His focus on productivity and mutual respect for his peers and learning coaches are exemplary.

His brother Kenta is in third grade at King CLC. He likes to play games and ride his bike when he is not at school. During school time, he loves to do things a student at an APS STEM school might be doing -- science and math things.

One of Kenta's favorite parts of King CLC is his mom. That's right. His mom works at the school and is on the same floor he is on. In fact, Principal Mary Dean tells us their doors are even very close.

And then there's Taiyoh. This Tabata brother is also at King but in kindergarten. He likes recess and gym the best ... so far. We're told he has said that he likes that his mom "plays games with him" and is, he says, "pretty good sometimes."
