The LeBron James Family Foundation's I PROMISE School will be getting some extra dough in June.

Warren-based Covelli Enterprises, Ohio's largest franchisee of Panera Bread stores, is helping to raise money for the school, which the foundation designed in partnership with Akron Public Schools. The new school is set to open in the fall.

Panera will match "dollar for dollar" customer donations made throughout June at any of its about 50 stores in the Akron, Canton and Cleveland area, according to a news release. Customers can put their donations in the Community Breadbox collection canisters at each location.

The money raised will support the I PROMISE School's mission to work with at-risk APS students. The school is an extension of the LJFF's "We Are Family" effort and I PROMISE Network, which work in myriad ways with Akron kids to help them stay in school. Those who complete the program through graduation will receive scholarships to The University of Akron.

"LeBron knows it takes a complete community effort to create the real, generational change he envisions with the I PROMISE School, so it means everything to our Foundation to have the support of incredible partners like Panera Bread," said Michele Campbell, executive director of the LJFF said in the release. "We believe this groundbreaking school will be life-changing for families in Akron, and our work would not be possible without this critical support from the Northeast Ohio community."

The I Promise School will start with third- and fourth-grade classes and add first and second grades in the 2019-20 academic year. By 2022, the school will be complete with first through eighth grades.

Covelli Enterprises operates more than 300 Panera Bread outlets in eight states. The company is no stranger to helping others. A Crain's story earlier this year looked at how Covelli Enterprises' philanthropic efforts have helped others and the company's marketing as well.

"We are a Northeast Ohio company, so it means the world to us to do what we can do make a difference for our communities right here at home," said Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises, in a statement. "We are incredibly proud to be able to support the work of the LeBron James Family Foundation, and we can't wait to see the I PROMISE School come to fruition for the kids who need it most. In Northeast Ohio, we take care of each other. LeBron gets that, and so do we. We Are Family."
