OUR MISSION
Akron Public Schools serves every student by enriching his or her talents and interests. We develop well-rounded young people with our strong, innovative programs that stimulate curiosity and appeal to their passions for life and learning.

District Information

Akron Public Schools operates nine high schools, nine middle schools, 28 elementary schools and three preschool buildings. APS Points of Pride for the 2021-22 school year include more than 7,000 College Credit Plus credits earned, 100% of elementary students in art classes, more than 3.2 million meals served, 250 performances and events, and many more! With 15 academies and 54 college and career pathways available through College and Career Academies of Akron, our middle and high school students have more opportunities to enrich their talents and interests. Our programs work in collaboration with business and community partners to prepare students for success in their chosen college or career path. Coming soon to our elementary schools – one of the first K-12 programs in the nation!
