Donations Made to APS at Oct. 22 Board Meeting

  • Reams Enterprises Inc. of East Point, Georgia, will be donating their services to build out the showroom for the mechanic shop at the Bridgestone/Firestone-branded Complete Auto Care Center to be established at East CLC, as part of the College & Career Academies Program (services valued at $55,000)
  • Lane Valente Industries of Bohemia, New York, will be donating two exhaust fans and a General Electric Zeroline 12000 BTU plus cord, and will provide 32 hours of labor to install these items in the mechanic shop at the Bridgestone/Firestone-branded Complete Auto Care Center to be established at East CLC, as part of the College & Career Academies Program (equipment and labor valued at $4,753)
  • Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations of Akron, Ohio, will be donating a brand sign, tire bay frame, floor, silver frame and kit, tire unit side panels, four series graphics, and a lounge table for the Bridgestone/Firestone branded Complete Auto Care Center to be established at East CLC, as part of the College & Career Academies Program; in addition, lunch and gifts were provided for students who attended a student tour of the Bridgestone ATC Building on May 16, 2018, and hospitality tickets were provided for six students and two chaperones who participated in the Bridgestone Invitational on August 14, 2018 (items valued at $4,556.52)
  • Cornell Storefront Systems of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, will be donating two doors and frames for Door 100B and Door 101 for the Bridgestone/Firestone-branded Complete Auto Care Center to be established at East CLC, as part of the College & Career Academies Program (items valued at $1,000)
  • KeyBank of Cleveland, Ohio, will be donating four workstations and six side chairs for the KeyBank Financial Services location to be established at East CLC, as part of the College & Career Academies Program (items valued at $4,218.40)
  • $100 from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories to I Promise School to help inspire a love of learning in math and science through the makerspace
  • $100 from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories to Hatton CLC to help inspire a love of learning in math and science with a COSI in-house program
  • $200 from BMB Law/Colin Meeker to Miller South School for exhibit space for participation in the 2018 I-X Trick or Treat Street Event
  • 12 Cut-Resistant Gloves from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse to Kenmore Garfield HS Culinary Arts Lab for use in food prep, cutting, slicing, peeling, etc., to prevent cuts (gloves becoming an industry standard)
  • Trumpet Case from John Bullock to Miller South for use by a band student if needed
  • 4 boxes of Art Supplies (crayons, scissors, colored pencils, paper, sketchbooks, etc.) from Highland High School NAHS to Leggett CLC for Mrs. Victoria Standard to use with ESL students
