Middle school wrestling ended a great season on Saturday at Kenmore/Garfield. The City Championship changed hands as the Litchfield CLC Argonauts upset the Hyre CLC Hawks to win the team title. Litchfield swept the winter sports with championships in boys'/girls' basketball and wrestling. Coach Andrew Schifano from Litchfield kept his team alive in the championships, picking up some key wins late in the competition. Hyre won the regular-season title and looked strong throughout the day. The Argos got a couple of late wins to seal the victory by less than 10 team points. Gene Calvin was on hand to present the most outstanding wrestler award (named after Coach Calvin) to Innes CLC wrestler Jayson Parmer. Special thanks to the great volunteers from Innes who handled the table work and the concessions. Meet directer Coach Lee Thompson ran a great tournament with help from Larry Chambers at Innes. Congratulations to all the medal winners and thanks to all for the great season.
