Last Friday, coaches Emily, Erika and Juan took the boys' soccer team to volunteer with Good Samaritan at Patterson Park. Michele Smith of Good Samaritan could not quit raving about our team. In addition to unloading the truck, setting up, bagging and loading food, they assisted those collecting food and even helped clean up and tear down after the event was over. We are also proud of the boys who were able to translate and provide direction for many community members. Michele is hoping we can make this a once-a-month situation as she found their help invaluable.

I have included some pictures, and the adorable child helping to bring the strawberries in is Punam's little sister. And, yes, that is Coach Juan being held up by some of the soccer players. Also, I want to give a special shout-out to Alma DeBlasio. It does not matter where or what the need is, she is continually volunteering her time and services. She had no idea the team was planning on being there;she was simply doing what she does every Friday.
