Image of Project GRAD Akron LogoRegistration is near capacity for Project GRAD Akron’s Bridge to Kindergarten Program for students entering kindergarten in Akron Public Schools in fall 2019, but applications are still being accepted through June 28. Students entering Crouse, Schumacher and Helen Arnold CLCs have the first priority; but additional students from other Akron public schools may be accepted on a limited basis. Bridge to Kindergarten is a literacy-based program designed to increase school readiness and parent involvement by preparing children for the transition to kindergarten and supporting them in the first year. During the school year, the program will continue with educational workshops and family events. The two-week program runs from July 29-August 9, 8:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. daily. Breakfast and lunch are served each day, and participation in the program is free (however, registration is required). For more information or to register, call 330.761.7952; or email lliebelt@projectgradakron.org.
