Firestone Volleyball Champs!

by Chris Pashke

Firestone’s volleyball team found themselves on top in their city conference once again, winning their 9th championship title! The championship win was a great send off for the six seniors that will be leaving after this year. Seniors Janelle Perry, Destynee Lovejoy, and Taliyah Carter led the team while freshman Kennedy Majors and Hannah Fortune made great plays pointing a bright light to what’s to come in the future. Varsity finished 13-0 in their conference and 16-7 overall. Coach Stacey Myers was joined by a new assistant coaching staff for the 2014-15 season, with Jeff Sloan coaching Junior Varsity and Page Kagafas coaching Firestone’s First Level team. JV also came out champions in the Akron city conference. Stacey is ready and excited to take her team further in non-conference matches in the upcoming years.
