Students, parents, staff and city leaders will celebrate the dedication of the Leggett Community Learning Center on Thursday, September 23, at 5:30 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the new facility and hear remarks from Superintendent David W. James and Mayor Don Plusquellic.
Leggett CLC is the 20th building to open as part of Akron’s plan to remodel or rebuild Akron Public Schools. In this massive rebuilding program, APS and its partner, the City of Akron, are creating community learning centers – schools by day, community centers by night. Akron students learn in a beautiful building shared with the community, and the community benefits from attractive new centers.
