AMHA, APS and City of Akron launch construction of the Summit Lake Family Opportunity Center

The Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, Akron Public Schools and the City of Akron will launch the construction of the Summit Lake Family Opportunity Center (380 W. Crosier St.) on Wednesday, September 26, at 10 a.m. This effort is the result of a $4 million grant to AMHA from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development to build an early childhood and adult learning center. Other service providers include ASCA/Head Start, Akron Summit County Public Library, Boys & Girls Club, Child Guidance & Family Solutions, County of Summit, Goodwill Industries, Greenleaf Family Center and Project Learn of Summit County. This is and will be a wonderful addition to Summit Lake and the community it will help educate pre school age children and their parents and the children in between. Great Project ...Akron Summit Library,Boys and Girls Club Akron Public School, ASCA / Head Start, Child and Family Guidance Solution, Green Leaf Family Center, Project Learn of Summit County, County of Summit Goodwill Industries My name is Maxine L. Avent I was laid off in 2004 from Head Start in Akron Public School I would love to teach the Head Start or Pre School children when the project is complete .. Thanks for your consideration .
