Schools - Bettes Elementary School

Filters: Bettes Elementary

Nathanial Bettes, a native of Massachusetts, was one of the Minutemen who answered the alarm after Lexington and took part in the siege of Boston. He entered the Revolutionary War as a private and rose to the rank of captain. Massachusetts awarded its Revolutionary soldiers grants of bounty lands in the West. Bettes and his brother Mills ultimately settled in the area known as Bettes Corners.
