Mason CLC teacher Ann Marie Rushanan presented at the 2009 National Council for the Social Studies Annual Conference. The topic was "Using Children's Literature to Teach Economics for Early Learners."
King teacher Janet Lippincott presented at the 2009 National Council for the Social Studies Annual Ohio Center for Law Related Education Conference. Her presentation was titled "Making Government Branches Interesting and Relevant."
Amy Rudd, Rankin literacy coach, had a picture of her literacy resource room's CAFE Bulletin Board published in the Weekly Tips Newsletter on the Daily CAFE's Web site. CAFE is an acronym for "Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency and Expanding Vocabulary."
Roswell Kent GLOBE students Brian Brown, Kimberly Flight, Alina Francesconi, Katherine Lee, Alicia Lindsey, Twanjah Logan, Aicha Traore and Rebecca Vang attended, presented at and competed in the fourth annual SATELLITES Conference. Vang won the People's Choice Award and trophy. Their teacher is Steven Frantz.
