Roswell Kent Closing Q and A

by Rene Garrett

Akron Public Schools city-wide rebuilding program is progressing as planned. In the next several years, all of our schools will become innovative community learning centers. Declining enrollment and budget shortfalls will require us to close/merge buildings at the end of the 2016-17 school year. At the October 10, 2016, Akron School Board meeting, members voted to close Roswell Kent Middle School as part of our plan to consolidate. We are including a Q and A for you. This was used at a parents' meeting at Roswell Kent on November 1, 2016, to help families understand the changes coming to their children's school.
