Image of Male Student StudyingStudents in Akron Public Schools have a multitude of opportunities to take college courses while attending high school. Currently, our College Credit Plus program has more than 400 students enrolled at five different colleges.

We should note, this number does not include APS students enrolled at Akron Early College High School on The University of Akron campus. Early College High School has pioneered the dual credit program for Akron Public Schools which, as you can see, has become increasingly popular. Our students are taking College Credit Plus courses from every high school in the district.

College Credit Plus will hold two Information Nights: Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. at East CLC (in the auditorium) and Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at Firestone CLC (in the auditorium). Information will be available regarding CCP, including representatives from area colleges. All students in grades 7-12 are eligible and will learn about admission requirements, dual credit offerings, tuition and benefits, and application deadlines. For more information, email Lisa Kindleburg at lkindleb@apslearns.org; or call 330.379.8352.
